Luboń Wielki

And how was the Luboń Wielki mountain created? This is also the legend of the old days, when there were no mountains or rivers in this place yet. The land located here was ruled by king Stary Sącz, who had a daughter, Rabka. Prince Luboń, who ruled the neighboring land, tried for her hand. Rabka was favorable to him, but the king did not want him to be his son-in-law. Soon, however, Stary Sącz set off on a military expedition, and before that he locked his daughter in a monastery. Prince Luboń found out about it and stole his beloved from there. The young got married and had a son. When the king returned from the war and found out about everything, he became angry. He found the castle where the spouses lived, and then put a curse on them, as a result of which the castle turned into a rock rubble, and Luboń went up. Rabka cried out of grief and longing so much that the Raba River rose from her tears. The princess is also commemorated by the town named after her Rabka, and her father - by Stary Sącz.

Another fairy tale related to Luboń Wielki tells about Arelka, the daughter of the sorcerer Arwot, who fell in love with reciprocity in the leader of the robbers, Tomek Luboń. He promised to break the rogue dealings in return for getting a magic book. Such a book was owned by her father, Arwot, and it was constantly guarded by a great dragon. However, Arelka managed to steal the book and gave it to her beloved. He, thanks to magic, opened a great mountain, in which he ordered to build chambers for himself and Arelka. He no longer had to deal with the robbery, because thanks to the magic book he had treasures which he shared with the poor. However, one day, in the absence of Arelka, the sorcerer sent the devil, who took the book and closed the top, leaving Tom inside, and turned the returning Arelka into aspen. This mountain was called Luboń. Beside her, in the form of an aspen, she constantly cries over the fate of her beloved Arelek.

A jak powstała góra Luboń Wielki? O tym również opowiada legenda, dotycząca dawnych czasów, gdy w tym miejscu nie było jeszcze gór ani rzek. Położona tu krainą rządził król Stary Sącz, który miał córkę Rabkę. O jej rękę starał się władający sąsiedzką krainą książę Luboń. Rabka była mu przychylna, jednak król nie chciał go na zięcia. Wnet jednak Stary Sącz wyruszył na wyprawę wojenną, przedtem zaś zamknął córkę w klasztorze. Książę Luboń dowiedział się o tym i wykradł stamtąd ukochaną. Młodzi pobrali się i mieli syna. Gdy król wrócił z wojny i dowiedział się o wszystkim, wpadł w gniew. Odnalazł zamek, w którym zamieszkali małżonkowie, po czym rzucił na nich klątwę, w wyniku której zamek zamienił się w skalne rumowisko, a Luboń w górę. Rabka z żalu i tęsknoty tak bardzo płakała, że z jej łez powstała rzeka Raba. Królewnę upamiętnia też miejscowość nazwana od jej imienia Rabką, zaś jej ojca – miejscowość Stary Sącz.

Inna baśń związana z Luboniem Wielkim opowiada o Arelce, córce czarnoksiężnika Arwota, która zakochała się ze wzajemnością w herszcie zbójców, Tomku Luboniu. On obiecał zerwać ze zbójeckim procederem w zamian za zdobycie czarodziejskiej księgi. Taką księgę posiadał jej ojciec, Arwot, a pilnował jej nieustannie wielki smok. Arelce udało się jednak wykraść księgę i dała ją ukochanemu. Ten, dzięki czarom, otworzył wielką górę, w której kazał wybudować dla siebie i Arelki komnaty. Nie musiał już zajmować się rabunkiem, bo za sprawą czarodziejskiej księgi miał skarby, którymi dzielił się z biednymi. Jednak któregoś dnia pod nieobecność Arelki czarnoksiężnik wysłał diabła, który zabrał księgę i zamknął górę, zostawiając Tomka w środku, zaś powracającą Arelkę zamienił w osikę. Góra ta została nazwana Luboniem. Obok niej zaś w postaci osiki bezustannie płacze nad losem ukochanego Arelka.
